Importance of Sustainability Issues

Sustainability, to me, is making Earth friendly decisions in your day to day life and taking care of the environment. This planet is slowly dying from our hands and we need to take care of it. There will be no home for us or generations to come, unless we clean up our act. The community should absolutely care about sustainability, as well. The consequences of climate change affects everyone, so the public should be aware and make sustainable choices. A community has more impact together, so it is important for them to unite their efforts.

Science plays a critical role in regard to sustainability issues because that is how we educate others. If people are aware of the facts and evidence of climate change, then they will be more willing to make a difference. Research also leads us to solutions, such as solar and wind energy. It is everyone’s responsibility to address the issues because we all live on this planet and utilize its resources, so it only makes sense that we all play a role in caring for it.

    Hey Julie, I like your point about sustainability and the way we can act towards helping the environment. In regards to your physical post, because I had the same problem, fix the way your text is in blogger because it was paste incorrectly which causes the text to look like you have it. Also change the font to white because is really hard to read it. Just fix it and you will be okay.

Climate change is the effect of humans emitting enormous amounts of carbon dioxide, mostly, which changes the global climate patterns. It is a major threat to us on this planet. It is everyone's responsibility to address the issue; we all play a role in the problem, so we can also play a role in the solution. The first steps to make a change is to acknowledge the issue and want to help. Climate change affects everyone on Earth, so no matter who you are, you should care about the issue. Misleading Data in Media

The graph does not look too problematic at first glance, but issues arise as one takes a closer look. The lines on the y-axis are somewhat confusing in showing what percent goes with which line exactly. Then, the 8.6% for November is almost at the same level as 9.0%. There is a drastic change between 8.8% and 8.6% . Also, the graph shows that 8.6 is greater than 8.8, which is not accurate and inconsistent.  They are misleading people into thinking that Obama had higher and constant unemployment rates, so the scale and lines are confusing. Science and I

I have pretty much enjoyed science most of my life. Middle school science was especially enjoyable because my teacher was amazing. He taught the subject in an entertaining manner that helped me further develop my interest in science. Biology was more fascinating to me rather than environmental science. I took AP biology in high school and loved it, although it was very stressful and challenging. I volunteered to assist my teacher in his master's research with collecting data about dragonflies on our campus. Science was not heavily discussed in my home, but it was not fully ignored. My sister also loves science and is studying horticultural, so I mostly talked about it with her.   Science is fascinating because it teaches us how the world we live in operates. I am passionate about being involved in S.T.E.M subjects since not many women are represented in the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics fields.
