Climate Change

Climate change is the effect of humans emitting enormous amounts of carbon dioxide, mostly, which changes the global climate patterns. It is a major threat to us on this planet. It is everyone's responsibility to address the issue; we all play a role in the problem, so we can also play a role in the solution. The first steps to make a change is to acknowledge the issue and want to help. Climate change affects everyone on Earth, so no matter who you are, you should care about the issue. As a society we can each be a part of the solution. We can vote for people who care for the environment and can actually enforce environmental laws. We, as individuals, can play a part by buying less beef to help with the amount of methane released. Or, one can simply buy less processed foods and lessen pollution from shipping and manufacturing. These are just a couple of examples of how we can help with climate change.

Importance of Sustainability Issues

Sustainability, to me, is making Earth friendly decisions in your day to day life and taking care of the environment. This planet is slowly dying from our hands and we need to take care of it. There will be no home for us or generations to come, unless we clean up our act. The community should absolutely care about sustainability, as well. The consequences of climate change affects everyone, so the public should be aware and make sustainable choices. A community has more impact together, so it is important for them to unite their efforts. Science plays a critical role in regard to sustainability issues because that is how we educate others. If people are aware of the facts and evidence of climate change, then they will be more willing to make a difference. Research also leads us to solutions, such as solar and wind energy.
